DETAILS ON OUR CHARITABLE ACTIVITIES IN NORTHEASTERN NIGERIA
Our organization is committed to carrying out charitable activities in Northeastern Nigeria to bring hope and relief to people who have been denied education, economic opportuniies, employment opportunities and good quality of life due to years of violence and terror in the region. The following are details on our activities in Northeatern Nigeria:

1). Advancing Education:

• Our organization is focused on providing scholarships to qualified youths in Northeastern Nigeria who have been denied education by Boko Haram militants to enable them continue with their education in boarding schools located in States in Nigeria that have not been affected by the Boko Haram militants' reigns of terror. Calls for application for the scholarships will be promoted in various communities and refugee camps in Northeastern Nigeria. Successful youths will be selected through efficient and fair selection processes and be awarded the scholarships. The scholarship awarded to each successful youth should cover the costs of tuition, books, accommodation, feeding, healthcare and clothing. Beneficiaries of the scholarships will each have to maintain a minimum 75% final grade average for each academic year in order to continue to receive the scholarships.
• Donate school supplies including books, stationary and backpacks for underprivileged elementary school children and secondary school youths in Northeastern Nigeria. The school supplies will be purchased by the organization. However donations of school supplies to the organization by individuals and groups for this charitable relief program will also be gratefully accepted.
• Offer after school programs and tutorials for school cildren who need extra help with their school work.
• Assist with providing basic adult education for adults who need to learn how to read and write.
  
  2). Relieving Poverty:
  
• Provide entrepreneurship skills training for women and unemployed youths in Northeastern Nigeria displaced and/or affected by the terror of Boko Haram militants. The entrepreneurship training will be conducted in community centres, refugee camps and women`s shelters.
• Provide relief supplies and materials including food, clothing, body care products, hare care products and toiletries for women, children and youths in refugee camps in Northeastern Nigeria.
• Provide resources including cash and materials to qualified and reputable donees in Canada and in Northeastern Nigeria to enhance their charitable works.

3). Improving Socio-Economic Conditions of Women, Children and Youths:

• Our organization is committed to carrying out activities that improve economic opportunities and social conditions of poor women and youths in Northeastern Nigeria. Including:
• Relieving unemployment by operating social businesses for underprivileged and unemployed women, youths and people with disabilities.
• Providing resources, including cash donations, micro credit, materials, supplies, and skills training for poor rural women who are crafters, artists and artisans.
• Provide farming tools, materials and supplies such as seeds, seedlings, fertilizers and hoes, and farming skills training for poor rural farmers in Northeastern Nigeria.
• Operating a micro credit lending program for start-up businesses for poor women, youths and the people with disabilities.
• Reunite missing children separated and/or displaced by Boko Haram militants with their parents/families.
• Providing safe and caring environment for children whose parents were either killed or displaced by Boko Haram militants in northeastern Nigeria.
• Providing counselling services for children and youths who have been traumatized by Boko Haram militants' years of terror.
• Promoting and Inculcate self-esteem , self-worth and self confidence in girls who have been degraded and victimized by Boko Haram militants.
  
  4). Relieving Youth Unemployment:
  
• Carrying out activities that relieve unemployment to unemployed youths in Northeastern Nigeria. The beneficiaries will be both male and female youths.
• Providing employability skills training to unemployed youths to enable them develop the skills necessary to prepare for employment. Including: effective communication skills, interpersonal skills, career counselling, resume writing,, job searching, preparing for job interviews, and time management. The employability skills training shall be carried out through employment-related skills training programs, conferences and workshops. Will assist with creating local job banks.
• Organizing job fairs for unemployed youths and local employers.
• Providing entrepreneurship skills training for unemployed youths to enable them start their own businesses and become self employed. This will include training them on preparing a business plan, obtaining financing, bookkeeping, preparing financial statements, marketing, business management and government regulations.

How We Carry Out Actvities in Northeastern Nigeria
Our organization carries out its activities in Northeastern Nigeria through its own volunteers, directors or employees. It also carries out its activities through reputable agents, or through some other intermediaries, but still directs and controls the use of its resources. When carrying out its activities through an intermediary the organization takes the following steps:
• Creates a written agreement with the agent or intermediary, and implement its terms.
• Communicates a clear, complete, and detailed description of the activity to the intermediary.
• Monitors and supervises the activities.
• Provides clear, complete, and detailed instructions to the intermediary on an ongoing basis.
• Arranges for the intermediary to keep the organization's funds separate from its own, and to keep separate books and records.
• Makes periodic transfers of resources based on demonstrated performance.
• We make ourselves aware of local laws in Nigeria, and how they are enforced, before carrying out charitable programs in Northeastern Nigeria.
